Lenten Devotion by Shelly Cichowlas

“For it is you who light my lamp; the Lord my God…” (Psalm 18:28)
I remember the first time I rode a ski lift up a mountain as the sun was rising. Stillness, quiet and peaceful as the grey tones of early morning began to turn from darkness to radiant hues of morning light. This is how I first remember feeling the presence of God as a young teen who was desperately searching for “proof” that God was with me. This sacred place is where my mind goes when I close my eyes and imagine a peaceful place. It is also a metaphor for my own life and the way I hope to bring that warmth and quiet presence with others.
God of beauty, God of peace, thank you for providing daily reminders of all that we ever need to live and love each other. Amen
