Nothing has made me reflect on my own faith as much as raising a child. My son listens to everything he hears in church. He remembers the stories that Pastor Debbie has told year to year. He ponders the meaning of Bible stories he hears and wonders what they all mean. His questions have pushed me to dig deeper and try to come to a better understanding myself so that I can help him to see the big picture.
Because my son absorbs so much of what he sees and hears, it’s important for church to be a place that reinforces our values. I’m blessed to have found such a place in Edwards Church. I still wish I had all the answers for my son, but it’s comforting to know that we can search for them together as part of a caring community that is committed to living out our belief that every person is loved unconditionally by God. —by Cari Cornish
